Different Application April 8, 2010 D. Valentine (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted a good shed alarm. But there seems to be a gap between shoddy shed alarms and expensive house alarms. Also the features in both always seemed to be not quite what I wanted. A car alarm seemed a good choice as no mains supply is needed and it should be built to work correctly over a wide temperature range, and with damp around. Unlike quite a few house alarms. You just need to add a 12V battery and a means of charging (solar or mains if available).
The installation wiring was easy enough to do. Even with the changes for my unusual application. In terms of reliability (only 1 week) the alarm has been very good. That is no false triggers, and correct triggers in response to my deliberate actions.
The only difficulty was in understanding the programming instructions. I work as an electronics engineer at that! They have lost a bit in translation to English and contain an error or two.
I would certainly put this alarm at the top of the list of contenders for any future vehicle or outbuilding alarm requirements. Having worked my way through the first installation, there should not be any more problems with the installation notes.
If the installation and user notes had been better, I would have given this product 5 stars
